Psychological Examiner II
Primary Responsibilities: Performs highly complex (senior-level) psychological testing and evaluation in order to establish eligibility for state services for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder or related conditions; Work involves psychological testing, programming, diagnosing, reporting, and research; May supervise the work of others; Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Required Job/Degree Experience: One (1) year experience in Counseling or Psychological work; Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Doctorate degree in Psychology or a related degree; Prefer competency in bilingual assessment.
Registration, Certification, or Licensure: Must be a Licensed Psychologist in the State of Texas or a reciprocity state; Must be proficient in administering and interpreting psychological test instruments; Must be capable of preparing comprehensive reports; Must maintain licensure including meeting annual continuing education training requirements set by Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists; Must meet criteria for Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) “Certified Authorized Provider” in an exempt agency; Current, full, unencumbered license in the state of Texas as a medical doctor or licensed psychologist with: successful completion of graduate coursework in individual intellectual assessment, supervised experience or successful completion of graduate coursework in adaptive behavior assessment; and, one (1) year of employment, internship, or practicum in the field of intellectual disability.
